Our Vision
The foundation’s vision is to eradicate homelessness from our veteran population and meet the needs of all our veterans and our servicemen and women and their families. To support and assist our veterans when they return home with whatever resources they may need to sustain their well-being and their way of life.
About the Founder
I am a past Commander of The Son of the American Legion; On April 3, 2010, I walked across America’ to honor our veterans and to support our troops. My ultimate goal was to raise public awareness that freedom isn’t free and we should provide for those willing to put their lives on the line to give us the freedom that we enjoy every day. On April 9, 2011, I completed my walk, one year and one week, 4,195 miles, and visiting 149 America Legion posts across America. During my visits, we documented the service of any willing Veterans that I met to capture the stories of our real American heroes. In 2003, I rode a mountain bike 2,024 miles from Michigan to Mississippi and back in 14 days to express gratitude for a particularly sensitive and trying time. In 2005, I rode that same bike from Michigan to Chicago and then onto old route 66 to Joplin, Missouri, a total of 1,700 miles, to support the search for a Cure for Diabetes. Also, in 2005 I joined the American Red Cross and spent three weeks in Texas and three months in Louisiana doing time of the twisted sister’s Katrina and Rita hurricanes. I also was in New York and New Jersey with the American Red Cross for Sandy and Colorado for the flood.
Our Values
Our sacred duty is to take care of the ones that protect and serve and keep us free from harm and keep the enemy at bay and away from our doorstep.
We will provide the same resources to veteran’s family members, active servicemen and women families because the families serve as well.
